KARI - Illustrated Black Terracotta Lights
The story of KARI echoes the journey of cinder to wrap itself, once again, in flames, share the warmth and become a light. Sculpted in earth and painted by fire, KARI becomes a canvas that inspires moods and imaginations—giving life to it’s flames of gold through art. It’s a story of metamorphosis, where a piece of cinder transforms into an eternal light.
KARI is brought to life through the narratives of five different artists, channelling five distinctive moods onto lampshades made of terracotta, coated with a natural layer of black. The collection explores the timelessness and adaptability of smoked terracotta-wares—a technique traditionally used for cookwares—in newer spaces of living.
